biophilic textile panels

This prototype demonstrates how biophilic textile panels can be constructed using hand-cut polyester elements, layered and attached to linen threads made from the same material as the tensioned textile.

The technique starts from existing leaf motifs in the voile, which are solely cut out and re-arranged to create depth and layering.

The prototype also shows how textile panels can introduce subtle movement into a space.
Due to their light weight, the textile elements respond even to minimal air currents, creating a gentle motion reminiscent of leaves in the wind. This aligns with a core principle of biophilic design: dynamic, non-static environments.

The colour palette is deliberately restrained and based on natural tones. This strengthens the visual connection to organic landscapes, rather than relying on decorative contrast.
